Owner of Denise Ward Designs
Art has always been a part of my life. My father instilled the love of nature through his landscape painting and taught me his craft when I was only a young girl. As I grew older, sketching and painting became second nature to me. Learning to observe the world around me and the attention to detail that was required in painting guided my interest in collecting semi-precious stones. Living in Seattle, Arizona and Indiana has exposed me to a variety of inspirational natural resources and semi-precious stones like jasper, agate, quartz and turquoise.
While in Seattle, I was educated in the field of Interior Design. I was able to work with many influential designers and helped bring clients’ homes to life by combining their unique styles with vibrant color templates.
Then, in 2006, I took an ‘introduction to lampworking’ class. I immediately discovered how to combine my love for art, my semi-precious stone collection, my Interior Design expertise and my newly found artisan craft – lampworking – to invent elegant pieces of wearable art – my handmade jewelry.
Since I was a young girl, art has been a staple in my life. My handmade jewelry is a way for me to stay balanced, grounded, and focused on what matters most – family, friends and creative expression!
